When you use Pensioner’s Life Certificate Verification (App) through mobile devices that is hosted by the National Informatics Centre (NIC) on behalf of Government of Meghalaya in Apple App Store/Google Play Store, personal information as mentioned in Clause 1 is collected from and about you. This privacy policy sets out the details of the personal information collected, the manner in which collected, by whom as well as the purposes for which it is used. The information provided through this application may not have any legal sanctity and are for general reference only, unless otherwise specified. The use of services provided through the App is for the benefit of the user and not binding to the user unless otherwise specified. However, every effort has been made to provide accurate and reliable information. You are advised to verify the correctness of the facts published here from the concerned authorities. Neither National Informatics Centre nor Government of Meghalaya and its allied establishments will be responsible for the accuracy and correctness of the information available in this application. This Privacy Policy may be revised from time to time and you will be notified of all such changes.

1. Information Collected & Manner of Collection

When you register and use the App the following information is collected from / about you and stored securely at NIC Data Centre, Shillong:
(a) User Registration information such as name, PPO No, date of birth, bank account details as provided by the Directorate of Treasuries and Accounts (Pension Disbursing Agency), Government of Meghalaya and password;
(b) Automatically Collected Information such as user’s mobile devices unique device ID;
(c) Transactional Information such as your photo, your location details are also captured and uploaded to the Server for face verification.

2. Use of Information

(a) The personal information collected from you at the time of registration under Clause 1(a), 1(b) and 1(c) above will be stored at NIC Data Centre, Shillong.
(b) We may disclose user information as required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena, or legal / administrative process as warranted.

3. Data Retention Policy

(a) All personal information collected from you under clause 1(a) and 1(b) at the time of registration will be retained for as long as you use the application or administrative process have been commenced under Clause 2(b), subject to Clause 3(b) below, for such period thereafter as is required for such processes to be completed.
(b) All personal information collected under clause 1(c) uploaded to the NIC Data Centre, Shillong will be retained for a reasonable period of time depending on the nature of application, date of collection and transactional data will be purged thereafter.
(c) Nothing set out herein shall apply to aggregated datasets generated by the personal data of registered users of the App.

4. Rights

(a) As a Registered user, you have the right to access your profile at any time to add, remove or modify your photo that you have supplied.
(b) You cannot manage the communications that you receive from us or how you receive them. If you no longer wish to use the App you are free to delete the App. Please note that deleting the App will delete all the information collected and stored on your phone but this step will not delete any information stored at the Data Centre. Purging of data from the Data Centre will be governed by Data Retention Policies as mentioned in Clauses 3(a) & 3(b) above.

5. Data Security

The App is equipped with standard security features to protect the confidentiality and security of your information. Data is encrypted in transit as well as rest.

6. Disclosures and Transfers

(a) Your transactional data can be shared with third parties after obtaining your consent. You will have the option to withdraw the consent for further transactions.
(b) Save as otherwise set out in this Clause 6 as well as in Clause 2 above with respect to information provided to persons carrying out legal or administrative process, no personal information collected by the App will be disclosed or transferred to any other third party.

By using the App, you are consenting to processing of your information as set forth in this privacy policy.
